The two brothers who owns and runs the place cater to every individual sandwich / person. No two sandwiches are alike. You tell them what you like / dislike, they recommend and make it based on your preferences. Some of the cheese are made specifically for them. You have the option of buying them separately as well. I suggest, you Come bit early as the line takes time as they take time to cater with great care. Also, recommend you to try the mint tea. Which was refreshing. If you have space I suggest you try a slice of Tiramisu. It Took about 45 mins and it was worth it. A must try in Brussels. Maximum capacity in the restaurant is 10. Shop opens at 11.00am - 5.00pm. Closed on Fridays.

The most incredible experience that exuded such passion and flavor that I will come back to Brussels just to get a sandwich again. The sandwiches are each a masterpiece, but they aren’t just beautiful they are mouthwatering perfection. Every bite of the sandwiches are so perfectly designed and constructed so that every bite has the same confection of flavors that you are never disappointed by a bite. The sandwich maker himself was so kind, taking such measures to know his customer and make sure they have the best sandwich of their life. His brilliance just radiates beyond the counter!!! Chef’s kiss a million times over!!!

Truly an experience. You have to wait a long time, but it's definitely worth it. The sandwiches are simply delicious; I've never eaten such ones before, and the sandwich master takes his time (and is super friendly and funny), asks what you like, makes the toppings accordingly, and still surprises you with a flavor bomb you wouldn't have expected! When food is prepared with love and good taste using the best ingredients, the best results come from it. Don't travel to Brussels without trying Tonton Garby!

Incredible. It is the best sandwich I have had, and I have had a lot of sandwiches. Somewhere between food and art. I felt as if the man who made my sandwich looked into my soul in order to create something perfect. People describe this as a spiritual experience and they're not wrong. This should have a Michelin star, or be listed as a UNESCO cultural heritage site. Do you know that scene from Ratatouille, where the cynical food critic is transported back to his childhood? This is that. Every now and again I am struck by the urge to fly to Belgium to get another sandwich from here. It has been six years and my yearning for this sandwich remains. Wait for your turn, be patient, and be nice. It is worth it.

Sometimes I am not sure if there is any good left in the world, but after my visit to Tonton Garby, I think maybe mankind might have a chance. I had this saved from my research with the note “sandwiches will change your life”. That describes it perfectly. We went on a rainy Saturday right at lunchtime and there was very little line, but we still waited 1.5 hours. The owner takes such care with each person and sandwich, the love and positivity is worth every minute you stand in line. The sandwiches were amazing as well, I honestly never thought I would like a fruit and cheese sandwich this much, but the owner discussed our tastes and helped us choose a delicious combination. You will never have an experience like this again in your life. If you have the time, definitely make it a priority to stop here on your trip to Brussels.
